The Mind Contains an Immense Amount of Limitless Power
How exactly does one Meditate?
INTRO: First off, to begin meditation try to be in a quiet space with minimal light and if you could, be in absolute darkness. Some people that meditate even use a sleeping mask to block out the light. For beginners sit against a hard surface such as a wall in a room to keep your back straight and comfortable. Comfortability is key to get into the meditation state required to change your mind for the better. Once you have chosen your spot to meditate, set a timer on your phone for how long you want to meditate so you won’t constantly be thinking about how long it has been. For beginners, I suggest 5 minutes, but as you become better and better at meditating try to add a minute as you progress, similar to when going to the gym, eventually adding more weight to your workout.
MEDITATION: After you have set your timer choose what you want out of this meditation. For imagery I suggest a happy future with your family or a future where you reach all your goals. I highly recommend wearing a sleeping mask or something to be in absolute and complete darkness. When doing an imagery meditation, YOU HAVE TO AVOID THINKING OF YOUR PAST! The reason for this meditation is to visualize your positive future, putting your full focus on your future. Start with concentrating on your breathing slowly inhaling and slowly exhaling. After 10 to 20 seconds after concentrating on breathing, start to use your imagination to visualize yourself reaching the top of a mountain where you are overlooking a lake as the sun begins to set, picture a beautiful setting with birds singing off in the distance. You can also visualize laying on the beach hearing the ocean waves and seagulls off in the distance as well. Once you can visualize little details begin to switch scenery in your mind to something you really want. Such as buying a house and becoming a homeowner. Visualize yourself in front of the house you want and seeing the for-sale sign with the sold logo over it because you bought it. Visualize how happy you feel and how excited you feel, you are filled with beautiful emotions. Then visualize the look on your wife, mom, or family because of how proud they are of you. The amount of joy will run through your body, at this point you might have an urge to cry because your body is reacting to your mind. Your body does not know the difference between reality and thoughts, do not fight it, let it happen, your mind is being cleansed.
